What is the structural impact of the cold joint concrete to the embed anchor?

What is the structural impact of the cold joint concrete to the embed anchor?

This is a general question regarding embeds/cast in anchors. We have a situation at site wherein they split the concrete pouring. The first pouring covers 3.5" of the embed bracket and the 2nd pouring cover the rest (14.5"). So the cold joint of concrete is located within the embed bracket. Is there any structural impact of this condition on the embeds? Please see attached sketch for reference.

Dear Maria,

Thanks for your question.
The ideal situation is to have no cold joint existing as there can be movement along this joint and stresses won't be uniform on both sides.
It is sole responsibility of structural designer to ensure the concrete is completely monolithic on both sides with no unequal stress distribution otherwise anchor behavior will change and this cold joint will be considered as an edge.

Hope that's the answer to the question.
