What is the allowable embedment depth in the reinforced concrete theory ?

https://ask.hilti.co.uk/article/the-differences-between-en1992-1-vs-tr069-in-post-installed-rebar-design/c7tpky

As per the article the embedment ranges between 60d≥lb≥max(0.3lb;10d; 100mm), there is no reference in the EC2 for the 60d minimum embedment, can you please explain or give any reference for the 60d ?

Hi Tasneem.

Thanks for contacting Hilti.

The 60d limit you are referring to is the maximum embedment limit as per the formula, not the minimum. As you can see the lb needs to be lesser than or equal to 60d. Since you have cited an article from Hilti UK, I am currently in the process of reaching out to them for clarification.

Meanwhile you can refer to the ETA of the product under discussion for the maximum embedment values based on drilling method. For minimum embedment the calculation will be as per design standard which can also be calculated using Profis Engineering Software.

I hope the above has provided the clarification you were looking for. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
