Rebaring load and Embedment depth

Greetings

Please be advised that we went through the 2 design methods given in Hilti datasheet (attached) for the Hilti injection mortars (HIT-RE 500 V4) and we concluded the following, Ø32 is taken for example:

I-                   Anchor design (EN 1992-4) / Rebar elements / Concrete (P-17)
The embedment depth is 300 mm and Base m. thickness is 380 mm as per the table given in the datasheet, shown below:

For diamond cored (which gives higher forces than diamond core hole), the characteristic and design resistance are shown in the 2 tables below:

Really, the difference between the characteristic and design resistance is not clear for us.
The bar strength = 414 * (A-bar) = 332 kN which is less that the figures above.

II-     Rebar design (EN 1992-1-1, HIT Rebar method, EOTA TR 069) / Rebar elements / Concrete (P-28)
The bond strength for static design acc. (hammer drilled holes) is 7.3 Mpa, shall be confirmed by Hilti engineer that it is the right selection is 7.3 MPa as shown below.

The embedment depth (L) can be calculated as follow:
π * 32 * L = (π * 322/4) * 414
L = 453.7 mm

It is shown from the above that the matter is not straightforward. Accordingly, the communication with Hilti engineer is needed to decide finally the required embedment depth.

Dear Mr. Hashm,

Thanks for the question.

I am not able to see the pictures here in the question part. Can you please send me in my email (muhammad.usman@hilti.com)?

Regards

Muhammad Usman
