PE - Slab To Wall Error

Anchorage length calculation is possible when the cross section is under compression and/or shear. There is no solution for the entered loads, please try another design method.

Hello Anas.

Thank you for contacting Hilti.

I am sorry but it's not clear what you need from the details that you have provided. I reviewed the design file you have attached and it seems to be a working design and I do not see the connection between the message you have attached and the design. The error message seems to be a result of attempting to design a connection which is only experiencing compression loads. Here the rebars are not sufficiently activated and therefore the software gives that error. That is my assumption without looking at the specific details.

Please provide more information if the above has not been helpful. If you would like you can leave your email and I will get in touch with you to discuss further.

Regards,
Amad Qureshi

Hi Anas. Design of connections under tensions is not allowed as per EN 1992-1 from a structural perspective. The reasoning behind it will be better explained in the codes. The software is completely code-compliant and therefore gives you that error if you put tension loads. It is important to understand here that there is actually tension force created on the rebars from the moment and shear forces which is taken into account and you should be able to see the breakdown in the report. Regards, Amad.

Hi Amad, the case is on tension load, but the PE gives me error. Why cannot make it tension?
