Temperature and adhesive anchor performance
Dear Vivek,
Thanks for the question.
In the following discussion bond strength (performance) at increased temperature refers to the bond strength (performance) of an anchor installed at room temperature and fully cured prior to increasing the concrete temperature.
In general, the formulation of the resin has a notable influence on the behavior and such a general statement in this respect is not possible. However, it can be said that bond strength (performance) of bonded anchor systems decreases as the concrete temperature increases. As stated above the relationship between concrete temperature and bond strength is highly product dependent. As the glass transition temperature is reached the bond strength drops precipitously. Consequently, a suitable adhesive anchor systems should be used based on the required boundary conditions, see What is the difference between adhesive anchors RE 500 V3 and HY 200?
Practical Note: In a nutshell if temperature is a main boundary condition Hilti HY-200 A/R or HVU2 capsule system is maybe the right solution
Hope that will be the answer of the question. Please feel free to reach us for any other question.
